"Raining Earrings"

Author

Subject: Raining Earrings......

Hi everyone

Well as you may remember from my post dated 26/6 and titled "Earing Earing where for art thou" earings have served as somewhat of an "earpiece" for messages about commnication and h"earing".

I recently celebrated my 30th Birthday and the most extraordinary thing happened. Firstly, no one has ever bought me earrings. On my 30th my mother brought me a simple gold pair, yesterday a package arrived with ruby earrings from one of my best friends and then today my "mother-in-law" sent me three pairs all of which I just love!!!!!

So I lost some earrings but I've just gained 5 pairs!!!!

Up until this birthday I only owned one pair. So I wonder what I've just gained with reaching 30!?

Hi JuliA. There's probably a lost & found transition phase meaning there. A lot more flippantly, I'd say "five earrings" sounds like "five 'ere-rings" = five rings here, kinda apt for us living in Olympicsland, wouldn't you say?

Mmmmm do you know I work for the Olympics!?

I like the lost and found transition. Oddly I've been crying all week, like grieving, not totally sure why - just grief all week - perhaps I feel/felt lost. Maybe the 5 rings represent the "olympics" I feel like I've been through this year.

I feel lucky to have been given these earrings, each pair were given by someone special in my life. Interestingly, my mother and mother-in-law both gave me earrings (my own mother 1 pair and the other gave me 3 totally stunning pairs!!!!!!!)

Thanks Geoff - can hardly wait to be "free"......

Hi Gunter

Wow just missed you - I just replied to your post on the members forum!!

Anyway, I used to have a lot of jewellry, real and costume and I was stalked and the guy stole all my jewellery (sp?). In the meantime and possibly as a result my dress sense and taste in jewellry (why can't I spell tonight) has changed.

I feel a little wierd having so many pairs actually!

JuliA,

You just said it: you lost all your jewellery when you were stalked .. and now, years later, you've got a new collection. Lost and found .. just as Geoffree summarised. Seems the five Olympic rings have brought you to a point of final acknowledgment of grief (the crying) as you let go of the lost and move on to the found.

Well JuliA, no I didn't know you worked for the Olympics (I assume that means SOCOG [= the organizing committee for non-Sydney readers]). Good luck & best wishes then with whatever it is you do as you enter the home stretch (& I'm sure it's not as bad as 'The Games' [parody show on TV]). (& hopefully I won't have any more dreams of trains derailing.)

WHAT IS
SYNCHRONICITY?

Jane Teresa's Explanation

Jane Teresa Anderson

WHAT IS SYNCHRONICITY?

________

Synchronicity occurs when you experience a coincidence, or several coincidences, that seem so bizarre that you feel they must be meaningful in some way.

Some people believe that synchronicities are signs to follow, to lead you to where you are 'meant' to be. My understanding, however, is that not all synchronicities are to be followed, because ...

Synchronicities are SYMBOLS of where you're at, not signs to follow.

Synchronicities speak the same symbolic language as dreams.

When you experience a synchronicity, you are witnessing a change within yourself, an insight, a birth of something that has been unconscious bubbling up into consciousness.

At such times of change we see, all around us, symbols that reflect our shift in perception and self-understanding. This is synchronicity.

To understand this fully, and to see why it is not always appropriate to follow synchronicity, you can read my book, THE SHAPE OF THINGS TO COME. This way you can also discover how to read the synchronicities in your life and how to act on them in positive, life-enhancing ways.

Reality may never feel the same again!

______

P.S.

In Jungian terms all synchronicities begin with a dream.

The dream comes first, then the symbol from the dream appears in waking life in ways that seem incredibly meaningful - though, classically, it is hard to understand, consciously, what that meaning is.

This is because the dream is painted by your unconscious mind in advance of your conscious mind 'catching up'. When the insight (unconscious shift) is big, synchronicities follow.

What happens is that your incredibly powerful unconscious mind (far more powerful than your conscious mind) manifests its insight physically into your waking life. (You have changed - the world, as you experience it, changes in accordance.)

It usually takes up to a couple of weeks before your conscious mind understands the symbolic dream manifesting in your waking life as synchronicity.

Being human, as we all are, we often forget the original dream but still experience the synchronicities.

There are many excellent reference sources on Jungian synchronicity.

My approach is largely Jungian, but slightly shifted.

Again, if you are seriously in-depth interested, I suggest you read my book "THE SHAPE OF THINGS TO COME" to understand where I am coming from.

Quite simply, synchronicity is a waking dream and interpreting it as such is immensely enriching.
