Subject: swimming with dolphins

I swim with dolphins and communicate with them telepathically and they encourage me to trust them. They will take care of me. I can breathe under water.

Each time I have this dream I remember that I've been there before.

I take tiny little breaths under water just to be sure that I really can breathe and then I start to relax and play. We swim and play and have a wonderful time. I sometimes hold on to their backs and we dive very deep and then back to the surface, spinning and twirling the whole way.

Note:

I’ve had this dream since very young. There is never a conclusion. They are morning dreams and I always wake up feeling so wonderful. I'm also a scuba diver and it's the most wonderful experience to be down there with all of the ocean's sounds.

Hi Dianne

How wonderful for you to have those dreams - to someone who's never had a dream like that before it seems like a gift...... perhaps your dolphin dreams talk to you subconsciously about your gift or you being connected - as you said.... you normally have them when everything is fine.

Its interesting that your sisiter has them too - is she a scuba diver too?

I don't have any specific association with dolphins - to me they are a very spiritual dream symbol - one of being connected.

I was just commenting to friends last night after seeing a dream sequence in the movie Grand Canyon..... that I haven't had a flying or underwater dream since I was a kid.

Having said that swimming in water and in particular being able to breath underwater might signify your ability to get through emotional situations effortlessly, once you learn to trust!?

Out of curiosity is there ever any dialogue or coversations with the dolphins?

The dialog is more of an "understanding" or a "sensing". Even their encouragement to come with them and to breathe effortlessly is all mental. They are just pure joy and are completely carefree. When I think something, they either respond physically or I receive another message to just "let go". To be truthful, in reality (awake moments) when I stop trying to control my destiny, but I watch for synchronicities and trust that I'll be shown a path, then I can really enjoy life. It's when I try to control things that life gets all messed up. Maybe that's their message.

No, my sister is not a diver --- she believes she's a child of Atlantis. Who's to say?

I have these dreams maybe twice a year, but I have flight dreams a couple times a month. In both cases, sometimes it is so vivid that I wake up feeling like I astral projected to where I was. I sort of understand their meanings, but I have the series dreams a lot more than most people. It's to the point that when I'm in the dreams, I can remember my previous dreams, what I did in them and actually take an alternative course of action (in negative series dreams). In the dolphin dreams, I remember that I really can breathe and it's not so scary at first. It's strange to have such lucid dreams.

Hello Dianne and JuliA,

Interestingly (synchronistically?) Dianne, we've just been having a huge conversation about changing the endings of dreams in the Members Community Forum...

Your dolphin dream feeling is a pure delight. One of the most enlightening angles to take on dreams is to view everyone, every animal, every thing, every weather nuance (and so on) as an aspect of yourself. We live our lives testing extremes or finding balance points between them, so our dreams frequently reflect our 'opposites' when we are living too much in one extreme. So your observation about control versus letting go is probably apt .. in addition to everything JuliA has already said.

I have spoken with many people who have had dreams of breathing under the water at times when they are ready to let go or go with more flow in some area of their life. It's a feeling of trust and flow.

You communicate so effortlessly with the dolphin-aspect of Dianne because you really are already in marvellous communication with this part of yourself .. it's just, perhaps, that you over-ride the contact when you're less trusting and more wishing to control outcomes for whatever reason.

The sheer beauty of such dreams is that you can summon up the feeling from this dream - the feeling of being in communication with the dolphin - whenever you wish to draw on this kind of energy during your waking life. It's palpable because you've already experienced it deeply in your dreams.

As for changing the dream endings ... that's a huge subject .. over to others!

No wonder you know you have the potential to fly ...

Hi Dianne, JuliA, Jane.

That 'potential to fly' stays with us, doesn't it? My sister just reminded me this evening of how I used to labour over creating paper/feather wings and then make great hopeful leaps off the front porch steps. I was so sure I could fly. And so disappointed everytime I came down to earth, quickly, hard... Yet still, it is there, that same feeling I had as a child, but it is about being free to feel and to soar now.

I'm afraid I don't have anything to add to these lovely dreams of underwater play and the great reflections on them Dianne. However, I wanted to say that they made me feel good too. Such is the incredible power of dreams that they can delight one mind and still reach out to touch so many others! I'm happy you shared them with us.

Many More Sweet Dreams... Angela.

Thank you --- all. You all made points that do hit home. I'm constantly in a state of spiritual evaluation. What have I shut out? What am I not paying attention to? When have I not listened to my 'little voice'? I've found that when I'm in touch with my true-self, I feel free. My flight dreams are like a step to the dolphin dreams. Unfortunately, the tidal wave, tornado and stair dreams are all symbolically the opposite of the dolphin and flight dreams. I've been amazed at how I can interpret my emotions (surpressed or realized) by my dreams. I haven't ever thought of how people, animals, and weather all symbolize a part of ourselves. Looking back on each of these series dreams, I can peek into them and see the connection. It is very enlightening, thank you. The mind is so amazing. I'm fortunate enough to have very vivid dreams that keep me out of trouble. I literally called off my divorce based on a dream and it rescued me. When people ask what was the turning point in my life at different times and I tell them my dreams, they think I'm nuts. It hasn't failed me yet! When I post some of the tornado dreams I've had, I can't wait to hear your take on them. They are pretty wild. p.s. I just joined tonight. In the years I've searched for sensible dream interpretations, this is the first forum I've found that makes sense.
