Subject: Sea palace

Melinda

I am staying near the coast in a room that looks like an underground sea palace, made of sea animals (like clam shells) and plants.

It is on the land though. It's a hotel or youth hostel. A dorm room is $182 per night. I plan to stay there that night.

I go to a department store to look for Clinique powder or foundation. The colours are all too dark. I ask for a lighter one, but they said I'd have to buy a lot of different expensive ones to make the colour I want.

I cut them off and say no, I want something simple.

Then I'm eating dinner with my friend. I'm eating chicken* (see note). There are some Japanese people eating at the next picnic table. I share some food with one guy because he's still hungry as he didn't eat breakfast.

I speak to a Japanese girl in Japanese * (see note). She tells me about the rainbow room in the sky, but I don't understand. (I think because I couldn't understand her Japanese). I borrow some extra sauce for my chicken from one of the plates on their table after they have finished with it.

Then I go to a festival in the late afternoon or evening. It's a hippy type celebration. Tee sky changed colour: beautiful and bright colours.

There's a rainbow room (stage) that looks like a nativity scene. There are beautiful bright rainbow lights lighting up the whole ‘room’. There are lots of people, especially young women sitting on the grass, watching. There are stalls where people are selling things.

I'm trying to set up my tripod to take photos but there are lots of people in the way and I have trouble setting it up.

People are pushing and arguing about how much they paid to get in. I move to a less crowded space but I accidentally push my shutter button and take a photo. It's the last frame of my film. It starts to rewind.

Note:

* I'm a vegetarian. I recently lived in Japan for 3 years.

Hi Melinda

I wonder if this dream is a reflection of your sync post from the other day - the one about message on foot.

Does any of the following Keywords suggest anything to you:

Clam - feeling clammed up?

Price of hotel room - do you feel that the cost of something is too high for what you are getting out of it?

Clinque Foundation - clinical? issue or subject? the foundation - the issue underlying everything. Taking a clinical approach to the issue?

The colours - you want something "light" - easy, bright - again they are asking too much for what you would get out of it - you know you want "simplicity".

The eating/food scene - nourishment - breakfast being "the most important meal of the day" - guy still hungry - most important need not being met? or, by you feeding the guy could mean that you are feeding your most important need (the guy being an aspect of yourself).

I am not sure about the rainbows but I'm sure others in here would be able to shed some light. Pot of gold at the end of the rainbow? The song "somewhere over the rainbow"...

Festival scene - the word "stalls" jumps out at me. Taken literally - delays?

The tripod - 3 areas of your life that you are trying to set up?

People arguing about the price - again - could be aspects of yourself not getting value for what is being paid?

Moving to a less crowded place - Cairns or cairns like type place?

The camera - accidentally or "unintentially" shutting yourself out - the last frame - last chance to create a happy picture? - rewind - reversal - going backwards?

Based on your foot post, the above could be interpreted that you are working out issues here - how you feel (clammed up) - you seem to be working out what you want - what you don't want - you seem very clear about that - thats good!

Recognising that you are paying a high price and not getting value - again positive recognition of the situation.

Playing out your fears (camera/film) - looking at the worst that could happen perhaps?

I'm sure the more experienced dreamers in here can answer this, but in a lot of my dreams I feel I am being given a "snapshot" of the situation so that I can see all the issues.

I have not mastered the art of "taking advice" from dreams - meaning the dream tells me the right choice to make.

But, when all the issues are before you, and they are clear, that then puts you in a position to think about the situation and find those solutions that are being looked for.

I also think we play out our worst fears in dreams too. I know I do. Again I think that's safe and positive to acknowledge that "hey, I have some fears here".

Just my impressions. What do you think? Belinda

Hi Belinda! Thanks for your interpretation. I'm sure it's related to my foot sync. What you said made sense. I find it hard to act on interpretations and do what's necessary (whatever that may be) in my waking life.

The clam hotel - clammed up? Yes, could be! It was an exquisite building though. Unique and beautiful.

Clinique foundation - I have been trying to get to the bottom of the most important issues of my life. The light and simplicity issue is spot on. I want such a life.

Food - I feel like I have been nourishing the creative part of me (that has been neglected) since I broke my foot.

The rainbow room - hmmm...well it was very significant in the dream. It was the thing that everyone wanted to see and came to see. It was very important. Maybe it's what I'm striving for - my goal? There was a lot of beautiful light and a nativity type scene (new life/birth??) And everyone was sitting quite far back from it and watching it from a distance.

Stalls - interesting. I hadn't thought of it as delays. But I have been delaying a lot of things this year. Doing a course, moving, work etc. Now all those things have to be delayed as my foot is broken.

Tripod and less crowded place - yes I agree with you there. The camera - yes again. I feel this is my last chance (for some reason) to get my life together. i really don't want to go backwards with my life. I'm fearful of not moving forwards.

I too have not mastered the art of taking advice from dreams. But, you have helped so thanks again! :)
