I was telling somebody about something I had done in the past because I was trying to relate to this person.

I told them about a time when I kept setting fire to my dad's hair, but I would put it out before it got out of hand. My dad didn't notice that I was setting fire to his hair though until the fire did almost get out of hand and I had to throw a bucket of water on him to put it out.

Then I thought back to when I was burning paper in the closet. I told the person I was talking to that I always liked to watch things burn.

Oh there was another part of the same dream that was interesting.

I was in bed, wearing my nightgown, but I was not in my room. A friend was in the bed with me and we were driving the bed down the street. We were going quite fast even around the corners. I don't know if we were trying to get away from something or not.

Bedknobs and Broomsticks......... sorry the image of you driving the bed down the street just made me think of that.

Is this a pun on your dreams taking you on a journey? Perhaps it relates to taking something that's been asleep for a while for a ride, taking it for a ride? What did driving the bed feel like? Do you have any associations or feelings with this?

What's your dad like? Do you get on? Is "trying to set fire to his hair" like trying to get a rise out of him or trying to make him mad? but knowing when enough is enough before he gets really heated/mad?

I think of burning as cleansing, interestingly you were burning paper in the closet....... secretly cleansing or getting rid of the old?
