Hi Karina,
When you return in your dreams to your childhood home (or any past home) you are usually looking back at an attitude or belief that you developed back then which you need to reconsider or take into account now.
Usually, when waking life seems to present an obstacle, that obstacle is an attitude developed from a past experience which may have been appropriate for back then - but is no longer appropriate for now.
Such dreams help to pinpoint the attitudes or beliefs and to give clues as to how to change these for a more positive outcome in your waking life today.
In your dream you want to kill the spiders but your father says no. Killing something, in a dream, symbolises putting an end to something - often an outdated belief. So there is a struggle within you - to put an end to or not to put an end to something from childhood.
Presumably, in your dream, you didn't like the spiders. Were they invaders? Were they clean or dirty? Were they bugs, just as cockroaches are bugs, or did your father argue that the spiders were good because they cleaned up bugs?
Everyone's dream is unique, and to really get personal meaning from it, I need to know how you felt about the spiders and cockroaches.
Here are some questions - I will help you more when you post your replies here:
1. How did the spiders make you feel?
2. How did the cockroaches make you feel?
3. If a spider has a personality, what is it - in up to three words?
4. What is the job of a spider (in your opinion)?
5. Why did you want to kill the spiders?
6. Why did your father NOT want you to kill the spiders?
7. What three words would you use to describe your father's approach to life?
