I could see a freshly painted door. The number on the door had been painted over.

It was a nice door but I have no recollection of any details about the door or its surroundings.

Note:

In England, my home country, many houses have their street number on the door.

I hope it is. The painting over of the number made me think I could be leaving my past behind (which is England)?

Would make sense seeing as you referred to the way numbers are placed on doors there.

Do you need to close the old door before opening the new one????

Hi Star,

No feeling of any colour for the door, just that it was a nice one.

No, I live in Australia now, and I had wondered about the "old" door being something from England, and I have been finding it hard to let go of some things about the old country.
