Subject: Dead man in the fridge |

There is a man dead in my house. He is unidentified and I have no feelings attached to the man.
I think he was accidentally killed. I’ve put him in the walk-in freezer, wrapped in newspaper.
I go out and get on with my daily day to day things but the man is always at the back of my mind.
I go to see some friends on the top of a snow capped mountain in a railway station. The station is very surreal, like a movie set. There is a little boy unwrapping presents. He turns to me and asks if I know where the man is (the man in the fridge). I say, "No, one knows".
The boy responds quite indifferently, "He must be dead. I saw him wrap his book of shadows and send it to someone and everyone knows you only pass that on when you’re about to die".
I wasn't shocked or scared. I just realised that the boy was telling the truth.
I also realised that the man had given me his book of shadows. I was aware that about a week had passed by now and that I needed to do something about the man in the fridge.
I was going to take him out and tell the police that he had died recently, but then I realised that he was wrapped in newspaper and the date he died would be on the newspaper. I knew I couldn’t take the newspaper off either, as it would have stuck to his frozen skin.
I went into the freezer to evaluate the situation. There was a party in the house and people were having a lot of fun. Someone knocked the door and it began to close. I panicked slightly but it was ok.
Suddenly a man stuck his head around the side of the door. I did not know this man. He was elderly with grey hair. He smiled at me knowingly and began to close the door. There was a mail slot in the door but it was not big enough for me to get out of.
I knew I was going to be stuck.

Wow! What an amazing dream!
I can see heaps of symbolism in it - just don't know where to start...
The dead man has to be a part of yourself that you've killed off and frozen because you have no attachment to or interest in it. Maybe you only did it "accidently", not on purpose?
Have you decided to wrap him in a form of communication because you really want him to be found again and traced back to you?
Is what the dead man represents something that's staying in the back of your mind even though you think you've actually killed it off?
Is "unwrapping presents" to do with the "now", the "present" time?
Do you feel stuck at the moment, frozen in time and feeling that you've killed off an important part of yourself perhaps?
Just a thought...

Considering Bat Chris it's interesting there is also now a dead man appearing - did you get all I sent you???
Will be back to look at this when I have more time. |

Like Lena I see the references to frozen - not only do you have a dead man in a freezer but you also have a snow covered mountain. Frozen emotions perhaps - dead, unattached, snow - winter - a time when all slows down and turns inward before the re-birth in spring.
I also saw the boy unwrapping presents as being a reference to the gift of being in the present which children have the innate ability to constantly be in more so than adults. Could be indicating that it is time for you to be fully present and that by listening to and connecting with your inner child you will re-connect with the simple truth of now really being the only moment there is in which we all live.
And I also saw the references Lena mentions in relation to being stuck.
In relation to the Book of Shadows it reminded me of "Charmed" the TV show in which there are three sisters who are "witches" and who use the spells in the Book of Shadows to bring good into the world. Also reminds me of our shadow self and the Book of Life.
The Book of Shadows has been wrapped - the presents are wrapped and the dead man is wrapped.
Wrapped being not only a covering/layer hiding something but the term being wrapped about something as in excited is coming into my mind. In all instances paper is used - paper being a natural material that eventually breaks down - so perhaps a natural barrier that needs removing???
There is something in the "news" and the mail slot as both bring messages to us from the outside world.
The elderly man with the grey hair I see as representing wisdom - what is he telling you it time to close the door on???
Train station - trains - movement but station - stationary as in still, waiting for movement to occur which ties in with frozen and stuck.
Gosh, there is such a lot in this one!
Hope that helps to get you started.

I see a parallel in the dream between the boy UNWRAPING presents and the dead man WRAPPED in newspaper. Also the boy WRAPS up his book of shadows, which deals with death. On the one hand the boy is unrapping something that he may find valuable, (I'm thinking here of presents at a birthday or christmas. Gifts). On the other hand, you want to UNWRAP the man in the newspapers because the newspapers would tell the day that he died, which would implicate you because you didn't report it right away.
You might look into the reaction you had to the dead man in the dream. Why didn't you tell the authorities right away?
Also, this just came to me, perhaps you feel that you had something wrapped up, finished, closed, but for some reason you want to unwrap it again? Maybe there are somethings that came up that you hadn't touched on.
There are some other parallels that I see in the dream. The newspapers are STUCK on the dead man, you are STUCK in an impossible situation, and you are STUCK in the room with the dead man. Also the dead man is Frozen, and dead, unable to move, Stuck/frozen.
Perhaps there is some sort of decision that you are trying to make based on a situation that you thought you had overcome, (wrapped up), yet somehow you missed something and are being indecisive, which can lead to being stuck.
Even if my assumptions are wrong, I hope you might get some ideas from my post. :) |

i agree with all the ideas discussed above - wow - i wish i had an intricate dream like that to help me figure out my current problems...
i also thought it would be interestin to note that there was the young, middle age and the old featuring in your dream.
you wrapped up the oldd man - perhaps you are covering up something - but it won't stay covered - not only do u think about it in the back of your head, the little boy also unwraps evidence of your crime.
Hope you figure it all out....

Wow ....thanks for the insight guys.......Ive been thinking about this dream alot and yes I believe it points to my own feelings of being "stuck"in a bad situation right now...I think the book of shadows is actually quite literal...I recently received a book that I thought I had lost....I studied the book when I was a teenager and now suddenly ...on the other side of the world...the book found its way to me....and it was sent to me by a "witch"! I see this as a gift from the younger me to the older me....it relates to something Id forgotten and in a way frozen.....It was a book on th occult.....something I have not looked at for a long long time, but has always been in the back of my mind. Ther eis somnething about the mail slot that I know is omportant to understanding this dream....but I stilll can't quite get it....actually there is stilll so much that I still don't understand.....but I won't get "wrapped" upin it,I'll just keep dreaming and it will soon reveal itself to me..thats the magic of dreams!
Thanks for all your help guys |

Hope you don't mind if I add a tiny little bit here:
What about Mail as Male?
Mail slot/male slut?
(I know, sounds a little rude, but just thought I'd throw that out there.)

My thinking was, mail as communication.
Perhaps the dream is telling you to communicate your way out of your impossible situation.
First of all you wrap the dead man in a form of communication as Lena said, yet when the man had died, You did not communicate his death to anyone, instead saying no one knows what happened to him (even though you did know).
Then you are trying to figure out what to do with the dead man, but you still don't want anybody to know about him. You become trapped with him, with only a "mail slot" to get out of. No one knows you're in there except for the old man, who locked you in there.
So my thought is that you need to communicate the truth about your situation to someone. Talk it through. Perhaps then, new openings will come to you.
just some more suggestions. |

Thanks again |
